Blue Voyage
Blue Voyage Cruises are one of the most unique experiences you can have when traveling the Mediterranean. You can arrange a private
boat cruise in a Gulet, a motor yacht fully equipped with modern luxuries, with a three to five member crew - depending on the size of the vessel. You can spend 3, 5 or 7 days cruising either the Mediterranean or the Aegean Sea
in Turkey or Greece.
What is a Gulet?
A Gulet is a wooden style boat that is distinctive to the Mediterranean region. These boats traditionally have space for 6 to 20 passengers and offer comfortable living areas with wide sun decks. Individual cabins are air conditioned with private bathrooms and can sleep up to two passengers
in each cabin. The back deck has a large dining area and lounge for your entertainment. Though a Gulet is a motor cruiser, all Gulets also have large sails that are used when the boat is in open water.
What does one do on a Blue Voyage Cruise in Turkey?
Each summer, travelers from all over the world set sail and head for the Mediterranean
- many seeking the waters of Turkey and Turkish Riviera. Each morning, your
Captain will set sail for open water. When you arrive at your destination,
the Captain will anchor and the “Cook” will prepare a beautiful, Turkish style breakfast for you and your guests. Most days are spent swimming and sun bathing, relaxing, eating, drinking and playing cards or backgammon. In the busy summer months, many yachts, Gulets
and other boats are docked next to one another in the Turkish harbors.
Friendly conversation is made with your neighbors and a wealth of experiences is exchanged.
On days docked close to a resort area in Turkey, options such as renting Jet Ski’s, Parasailing and other outdoor activities are available. Certain docks have Yacht Clubs where you can have dinner and meet other members of the international sailing community. Certain routes offer the opportunity to explore coastal towns of great historical significance. Royal graveyards of ancient Greek gods are just one of the many sites you may visit.
Don’t forget shopping! Your captain will take you to rich ports where you can walk through the town and find wonderful jewelry – both precious and semi-precious, Turkish rugs, Porcelain plates and tiles, copper gift items, dried fruit and other Turkish souvenirs.
Blue Voyage is a once in a lifetime group excursion taken by many European and American tourists. It is an experience that is exclusive to the Mediterranean and enjoyed by travelers of varying budgetary concerns. Prices range depending on the Gulet you choose, the length of the trip and your chosen route.
